ZK's Garage is an independent resource for people buying or owning a C8 Corvette. It publishes sourced guides to trims, prices, common problems, maintenance and ownership costs, a free used-C8 inspection checklist, and C8 videos on the ZK's Garage YouTube channel. It's run by Zander Krause in Philadelphia.
Why ZK's Garage Exists
It started with a Corvette. I bought a 2020 C8 Stingray 2LT Z51 in July 2025, Arctic White with Magnetic Ride, and drove it everywhere: more than 12,000 miles in eight months, including a full Northeast winter on summer tires. I filmed all of it, from the first week to the 8-month update.
As a buyer and then an owner, I couldn't find what I was looking for: real, long-term C8 ownership content and clear, sourced answers in one place. So ZK's Garage became that place. It puts the answers together, checks them against GM's own documents, and keeps them current as Chevrolet changes the car.

How the Guides Are Made
- Primary sources first. Trim contents come from GM's Corvette order guides; prices from Chevrolet and GM announcements; recalls from NHTSA's database; service intervals from GM's owner's manuals and service bulletins.
- Every guide lists its sources at the bottom, and every price is dated.
- Ownership experience is labeled as mine. When a guide says what I paid or what happened to my car, it's first-person; everything else is sourced.
- Guides are re-checked when the facts change. In October 2026 every guide was checked against its sources and corrected where needed.
- Affiliate links are disclosed. The gear page uses affiliate links and says so.

Which C8 Corvette trim should I buy?
For a car you drive often, the 2LT: it adds the Head-Up Display, heated and ventilated seats, memory, the Performance Data Recorder and the option of front lift. For a weekend or track car, a 1LT with the Z51 package gives up nothing in performance. The 1LT vs 2LT vs 3LT guide breaks down every difference and price.
What problems should I check for on a used C8 Corvette?
Start with recalls: run the VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls. C8 recalls on record include the 2020 front-trunk recalls, a rear half-shaft recall on some 2021–2022 cars, seat belt retractor recalls for 2020 and 2024–2025 cars, and a 2023–2026 refueling recall on cars with a left-side radiator and fan. Then confirm the transmission services were done on schedule.
How often does a C8 Corvette need transmission service?
GM's schedule calls for the transmission's external filter at 7,500 miles and every 22,500 miles after that, and the transmission fluid at least every three years. The maintenance schedule guide covers the full list.
